Herp of the day: Chicken Snake

The Chicken Snake, also known as the Tiger Snake or Caninana, (Spilotes pullatus) is a nonvenomous species found throughout Central and South America.

These snakes are one of the longest in much of their range, growing up to 4.3 meters (15 feet) in length. They are known to be very quick, defensive, and capable of maneuvering gracefully both on the ground and through trees.
